Discovery
Spur Connect is a mobile app for traveling business professionals who are dissatisfied with using multiple single-source solutions to arrange and document meetings. This app connects professionals at users’ selected destinations and reduces stress when arranging spur-of-the-moment business travel connections.
Cognitive Walkthrough
We used the cognitive walkthrough to identify any usability issues on the spur-connect app.

Contextual Inquiry Protocol
Then, we created a contextual inquiry protocol and met with stakeholders to understand how users currently arrange meetings on the go. We captured pain points, workarounds, and unmet needs that informed Spur Connect’s design decisions.

User Journey Map
This map aided us in highlighting user goals, actions, pain points, emotions, and opportunities across each stage to help align design decisions with real user needs and moments of friction.

Key Findings
1
Host visibility
Users want to see who is hosting each meeting.
2
connection Context
Users want a section showing how they met each connection.
3
Secure upload
Users want an efficient and secure way to upload documents (meeting notes, reciepts etc.)
4
receipt tracking
Users want to view receipts with corresponding dates and times.
Usability Testing
We met with key stakeholders and a business owner to evaluate Spur Connect’s core flows, including onboarding, connection findability, and meeting scheduling. Feedback from these sessions helped identify usability issues, validate business goals, and refine the interface.

Next Steps..
Add a history of past connections to encourage ongoing networking. I would also include gamification or professional rewards for meeting new contacts (e.g., badges, endorsements).
Provide filtering options that allow users to search via industry, meeting type, and location to improve findability.
Design a shortened, low-friction application flow that captures essential information first, allowing clients to begin the process quickly and complete additional steps later with support.
